A festival of lights at Lafarge Lake
Coquitlam Town Centre
Sunday, December 5th 2010 from 3 to 7pm

With the pull of a switch, the lake and surrounding area will be transformed into a sparkling holiday fairyland, made bright by tens of thousands of twinkling Christmas lights strung through the trees and along the pathways. The lights on the trees will remain lit throughout the month of December to spread a little holiday cheer.

Envision Financial Light the Lake includes an outdoor Christmas market that features a promenade of brightly lit festival tents where visitors will discover holiday gifts, hot chocolate, gingerbread, candy, mulled cider and naturally, plenty of Christmas magic. Children will enjoy games and crafts including face-painting lantern-making and balloon animals. A festival stage will offer a selection of live Christmas music performed by local choirs and chorale ensembles, carol singers, bands and dance troupes.

The Envision Financial Light the Lake will promote arts, culture and community spirit while dazzling residents with rainbows of coloured lights and shining ornaments at Lafarge Lake. All proceeds from the Envision Financial Light the Lake will benefit the Douglas College Foundation.

Light the Lake is open to community groups who wish to host an activity for children, or provide music or refreshments. Some examples include Pin the Beard on Santa, Lollipop Pull, Shoot the Puck, Bingo and Christmas crafts. This fantastic community event, benefiting the Douglas College Foundation, is a great opportunity to promote your organization while demonstrating your support for post-secondary education right here at home.
